Carrying Just One Stone at a Time

Letter from Sri Avinash on the 15th of August 2012, Sydney Australia.

Hi everyone,

I hope that you have been enjoying your life adventure with all its ups and downs and challenges along the way. It doesn’t matter if we like it or not, the reality is that most of us are living very busy lives. As I am writing these words, I am realizing how busy my life has become lately with a long ‘To Do’ list that keeps getting longer. I’m glad I invested time to learn the art to relax and live in the moment – to take on one task at a time and be immersed in that task, forgetting about all the other tasks on my list while engaging in the one task at hand.

We can feel the weight or burden on our shoulders when we carry many stones on our back at the same time. But carrying one stone at a time becomes a lot lighter and more enjoyable along this journey of life. How often do we over-worry about so many issues at the same time and find that when we actually do one task at a time, the reality ain’t so bad at all? The tasks become quite easily done.

I feel that we all understand this truth logically and conceptually, but very few people can apply this understanding in their everyday living when the tasks build up and the challenges present themselves alive in that moment. There’s no real secret really. Like any field of endeavour, it’s the whole-hearted effort each day – to practice to relax, live in the moment, take it slow and easy with one step at a time. This is how mastery of our mind and emotions takes place and then “the world is your oyster.”

So let us all begin learning and practicing the art of living in the moment. Why not? It can only lead to love and happiness.

I wish you all well and see you soon.

Love and blessings,
Sri Avinash
