The Keys to Self-Realisation
Question: What are the essential keys to self-realisation or enlightenment?

Having love of the goal, having a clear understanding of the goal, and having a Master to guide, to inspire and to help you avoid the potholes and obstacles on the path.
When you face obstacles, the Master helps you overcome them quickly so you don’t waste energy and you don’t waste time going around in circles. Otherwise, you could go in circles for decades instead of going at high speed on the Autobahn, straight ahead.
The rest is just the love of it—the love of freedom, the love of God, the love of humanity and the love of God’s creations.
Keep reminding yourself how much you love these and suddenly you’ll have a passion for self-realisation.
Then you will be unstoppable. If someone says, “I will give you a billion dollars if you stop yearning for and practising towards self-realisation,” you won’t even flinch because you know a billion dollars is worth nothing in comparison. You will have that type of clarity. So, keep reminding yourself.
Now, as I said, an enlightened Master helps the spiritual seeker to work efficiently towards the goal. But the Master also represents the goal. The Master is the goal of self-realisation in human form.
Therefore, by being around the Master, by being close to the Master, by surrendering to the Master and witnessing the Master, you start to understand what the goal really is. Then your understanding of self-realisation is not just what you have read in books. You start to have the actual realisation of what that is. You feel it in your gut, you feel it in your bones.
Having that clarity of the goal helps you to love the goal more, because the more you understand it, the more you understand how beautiful it is and that there is no greater goal to achieve.
In the past, even kings would surrender their whole kingdom just to be able to train with a Master to attain this goal. Climbing Mt. Everest is incomparable to this. Winning the Olympic gold medal four times in a row is incomparable to this.
Nothing is greater than the realisation of our true Self.
When you have a clear understanding of that, then you will be unstoppable. You won’t be dragging yourself to practise, and you won’t need friends to push you along. No, you will do it because you have a clear understanding within yourself that there is nothing greater. You will love it naturally and put your whole heart and soul into it. You start to do whatever it takes to attain that quality of Divinity and to put yourself in the position where that moment of total self-realisation can happen.
If everybody does what I have shared here, they will attain self-realisation. There is absolutely no doubt about that.
